Najlaa Eltom is a Sudanese poet, writer, and literary translator whose work delves into the intersections of language, movement, and the fluid landscapes of memory. She has published three poetry collections: Melodies of Speed (2021), The Immortal Felony with Earrings (2019), and The Doctrine of Thinness (2007), alongside numerous short stories and essays. As a translator, Eltom is engaged in bringing Sudanese literature to global audiences, contributing to the translation of works by authors such as Abdulwahab Latinos, Stella Gaitano, Adil al-Qassas, Hekma Yagoub,Sabah Sanhouri, Nagy Albdawai, and Bushra Elfadil. Her translations, published online through independent and co-translation projects, amplify voices that navigate histories of rupture and resilience.
